  • What should I look for in a tree company?

If you are looking for a tree care company, you should keep a few key things in mind. While it's obvious that you must consider the price the company charges for its tree services and compare it with other similar companies, it is important to check out some further details, such as:

    • Insurance: Your tree service company should be insured. B&M Tree Service is fully insured!

    • Staff: Your chosen tree service company should have the skills and equipment to perform the job without damage to the tree or property. B&M Tree Service has been in business for 12 years with 80 years of combined experience, so you can feel confident that your job will be done right.

    • Reviews and Recommendations: Always read the customer reviews before making your decision. There is a reason B&M Tree Service has been in business for 12 years. We take pride in our work and our commitment to customer service.
  • When is the best time to prune my trees?

Dead, diseased, and broken wood can be removed at any time of year. However, for general pruning, the best time is in the early fall or late spring, just before growth begins. Oak trees have specific requirements, so please call us for more information. According to the USDA Forest Service, healthy, mature trees can add an average of 10% to a property’s value. Take great care of your trees by investing in our professional tree trimming services!

  • Are you licensed and insured?

There is no "licensing" for tree service in the state of Texas. However, we are insured. We carry general liability, automobile, and excess umbrella insurance. We will gladly show you a copy of our documentation if you choose to invest in our tree services.

  • How do you get to the high parts of a tree?

We climb! We use sturdy, professional climbing safety gear. This allows us to get up close and personal during our tree services. Some companies will use a bucket truck, but this may not allow them to trim the tree properly. To learn more about our process, give us a call today.

  • How do you remove large trees without damaging my property?

We use ropes to lower heavy, dangerous limbs or cut small pieces that are easy to handle and deposit into safe areas. When you choose our team for your tree services, you can trust that we'll leave your lawn in excellent condition.

  • How often should I prune my tree?

Most trees only need a thorough pruning every three to five years. However, the trees may need a small touch-up pruning every one to two years depending on the tree's condition and your personal expectations. We very commonly run into over-pruned trees, so it's important to understand that more pruning does not always equal healthier trees. Tree pruning and tree care should be done on a prescription basis. To learn more about our quality tree services, contact our team today.

  • Do you give free estimates?

Yes, but we make a distinction between estimates and consultations. If you need expert advice on caring for your trees or restoring them to health, or if you are looking for a diagnosis, you need a consultation. Consultation fees start at $175. If you have work that you know needs doing, such as pruning or removal, your estimate will be free.

  • What’s involved in the tree removal process?

During the process, insured tree removal technicians from a company such as B&M Tree Service use special tools to cut the tree into a series of sections from the top to the bottom. This might be less exciting than a single giant chop at the base of the tree, but much safer. You never know where that tree will land! We follow the latest industry standards to ensure your safety and ours.

  • Do I need a permit to remove or trim my trees?

Typically, not in Texas, but we can’t account for all municipalities or other organizations such as HOAs. Please give us a call, and we are happy to help you.

  • Do I need to cover wounds caused by tree trimming?

If you have big limbs that need to be cut off, we will use pruning paint to seal them. Pruning paint is only used if necessary and not every limb needs it.
